Yanartaş

The first thing that comes to mind when Çıralı is mentioned is Yanartaş. It’s also important mythologically. Various mythological stories are told about the formation and function of Yanartaş. According to a story, Yanartaş was given fire by the Goddess Hestia. 
Hestia built a temple around Yanartaş and lit a sacred fire there. This fire was accepted as a sacred fire for the Gods and had a special meaning. Another story tells that Yanartaş was formed as a result of an underground fire and that this fire was controlled by the Gods. These mythological stories emphasize the importance and sanctity of Yanartaş. It is recommended to visit especially in the evening hours.
